چکیده
Objectives: To determine the prevalence of cerebellar Ataxia in patients with hypothyroidism. Materials and Methods: The design this study was cross sectional conducted Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, Larkana. This duration 6 months from July 2022–Dec 2022. Total 13 hypothyroidism were enrolled. Routine blood investigation Thyroid Function Tests done for all patients. MRI order to rule out demyelinating, vascular structural causes ataxia. All data collected predesigned questioner. Results: A total mean age 50.92±11.21 years Out total, 69.2% male 30.8% female. Clinical characteristics enrolled are given table 1-0. SD value T3, T4 TSH 50.9±11.21, 2.80±0.63 77.30±10.57 respectively. TPO antibodies test performed that shows 31.15±3.38, fall normal range. And brain also normal. Distribution on basis it found 4 (30.8%) had Practical implication: will help clinical practitioner keep mind there is chance ataxia suffering So should take care avoid such complication. There evidence has been reversed by thyroid replacement therapy. Conclusion: It concluded Hypothyroidism responsible cause Therefore early treatment be taken manifestation. متن کاملGait in patients with cerebellar ataxia.
The gait pattern in 10 patients with cerebellar degenerations was studied and the results were compared with 10 matched normal subjects, seeking the principal patterns in this disorder. Gait at natural speed was studied in a biomechanics laboratory using a video-based kinematic data acquisition system for measuring body movements. Patients showed a reduced step and stride length with a trend to...

Objective: To characterize kinematically any systematic aberration in multi-joint movements in cerebellar ataxia. Methods: Nine patients with cerebellar degeneration and nine normal subjects, mobile only at the shoulder and elbow of the right arm, were required to produce left-to-right cross-body linear hand trajectories on the horizontal surface of a digitizing tablet. Nonlinearity indicated f...
متن کاملPrevalence of dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy in a large series of white patients with cerebellar ataxia.
BACKGROUND Dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA) is a rare neurodegenerative disorder mainly diagnosed in Japan. Its prevalence is low in other countries. Three phenotypes are described: choreoathetoid movements, cerebellar ataxia, and progressive myoclonic epilepsy. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the frequency of DRPLA in European patients with sporadic or autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxia....
